A SAN DIEGO PLUMBER: Pressure Regulators and what can happen with a faulty Pressure Regulator?
A PLUMBER IN SAN DIEGO Realizes that Many Problems are caused by excessive water pressure, for one thing when your Pressure Regulator is not functioning. Some of the most common occurences to happen because of High water pressure are. The toilet 400 a fluidmaster( toilet tank valve) will not turn off but will KEEP running.
Another common occurence to happen because of excessive water pressure( faulty pressure regulator) is the water heater will leak, from the Tempeture and pressure relief valve. A PLUMBER in SAN DIEGO has also found that plumbing fixtures (faucets) wear out a lot sooner than normal life expetancy of a fixture.
(In a Nutshell can cause your Plumbing to have a flood!)
Normal water pressure should be around 50- 65 lbs. The way to check your water pressure is by getting a water test gauge ( costs about 10.00) which can be purchased from your local hardware store or major hardware store. What you do is basically connect gauge to the hose bib by screwing (water test gauge) on to the hose bib. Then turn water pressure on and read on gauge where the needle points to? If it reads more than 65 lbs. - 70 lbs more than likely your pressure regulator doesn't work, and at night when very little water is used the pressure can go up to 150 - 160 + lbs.
A PLUMBER in SAN DIEGO has also noticed that leaks (breaking of water supply lines) can occur because of excessive pressure,( Faulty Pressure Regulator) I've heard of people that have gone on vacation, to return from vacation only to find their home is flooded with water!
A PLUMBER in SAN DIEGO also always recommends to always call a Professional to do the work.
