My Response To The Question:

I would say probably. If you run HOT Water for a minute or two, you will likely get rid of them. And also, keeping the Shower pan or tiled shower pan, Clean with some ajax or an appropriate Cleanser. It will go a long way to deterring them from actually building up.

And another thing to mention is that if the ants were to go down the drain, there shouldn’t be any way for them to get thru the drain outlets in other parts of your home.

The reason is that every Plumbing Fixture should have a p-trap, a fitting that holds or traps the water.

So also, odors from the sewer system do not enter the home.
